About

jamie150border1Jamie Cavanaugh is an educator, interactive producer & writer. She has worked on a wide range of projects for clients including the USC Center on Educational Governance, The Huntington, Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation, Prostate Cancer Foundation, UCLA Anderson School of Management, UCLA Professional Film Programs, Madeline Stuart and Arcadia.

Jamie earned a Master of Arts degree in critical studies from the Film & Television Department at UCLA. For 5 years she worked as Interactive Producer with KBDA, an award-winning communication design studio in Los Angeles. Currently, she is full-time faculty in the Graphic Design program at Santa Monica College.

As an educator, Jamie teaches web, mobile & motion graphics design at Santa Monica College. Jamie’s role as an educator is to prepare students for interaction and communication design careers, and to promote interaction design as an integral part of a communication design education. In addition, Jamie’s vision is to make “everything about web” easier to understand, and for students to feel the same affinity to it as she does. Jamie teaches several online classes and is interested in the future of Digital Education and eLearning. She is currently the Chair of the Distance Education committee at Santa Monica College.

In addition to teaching, Jamie also does freelance work “working the web” — building websites and interactive projects, answering web questions, and helping people with their web needs.
