Do you feel you’re at a crossroads and unsure of your future?

Is it something like this?:

Your days feel eaten up by work and other obligations and you’re having difficulty finding the time to think about your future and where you’re headed. Maybe you’re exhausted from doing too much, leaving you without any energy to take care of yourself. Are you on the right path? You don’t know. You don’t know what to do next. Maybe you think you should be able to handle this on your own because you’re smart and creative! — but so far it’s not happening!

I get it. I’ve been there!

I’m Jamie Cavanaugh. I’m a teacher and an interaction designer and up until recently, I was in a similar place as you are now! Over the past two decades, I went from being a graduate student (UCLA), to an interactive producer at a creative agency (KBDA), to owning a web design and development business, to teaching web and interaction design (ArtCenter College of Design and Santa Monica College). I’ve worked for over seven years in design education as a full-time professor at Santa Monica College. Recently, I’ve founded a website focusing on UX/IxD design education (Design Higher). Over the years, I kept thinking that life would get easier and my future clearer but what I discovered was it actually got murkier. And as I entered my “second-half of life” (ahem, yes my 50s!) I felt I lost focus and was no longer following my life’s purpose and giving priority to what I valued.

What do you want to do with the rest of your life?

Asking for help changed my life!

It took some soul-searching and finally asking for help to discover life coaching. Having a life coach really opened my eyes and was different than anything I ever experienced before. I learned I was struggling because of the beliefs I had about myself and my life. I hired a coach to help me work through the thoughts and feelings that were holding me back from being my best self and it was life changing!

So where do we start?
