I joined Beautycounter in March 2018. I believe in Beautycounter’s social mission of getting safer products into the hands of everyone. Women’s health is an important issue to me. I joined the movement because I want to spread the word about safer cosmetics.

Here’s my story
I didn’t think at all about what I used on my face or body until I hit my forties.
At forty-five, I began experiencing several perimenopausal symptoms. I sought out the help of an acupuncturist. I began reading more about the endocrine disruptors found in beauty and household products.
I started to care about my diet and the products I used.
I tried mineral makeup instead of liquid foundation. Many “natural” skincare lines irritated my skin due to the essential oils or additional fragrances. I tried many mascaras that didn’t work. Many safer beauty products just didn’t perform very well.
I grew frustrated. And several years passed by.
Then in Fall 2016, Beautycounter did a collaboration with Target.
I purchased five products: the Cleansing Balm, Face Oil, Rosewater Mist, Charcoal Mask, and the Sugar Scrub. I used the products and loved them all! Life went on and the Beautycounter products joined the array of others in my bathroom drawer. In 2017, my love for Beautycounter was renewed when I rediscovered the Cleansing Balm and started using it again! I researched Beautycounter more closely and the idea of switching over to safer products became a real issue for me.
This year, in 2018 I’m making several changes in my life. I’ve retired from my full-time teaching position, I’m training to be a life coach, and I’ve decided to focus on my health and wellbeing.
I’m becoming more involved in issues that are important to me, like women’s health and the safer beauty movement.
Beautycounter, not only offers high-performing products, they have a purpose and social mission I can get behind.
Why not change to safer skincare and better beauty?
